THE MASCOTS OF THE FIFA WORLD CUPS SINCE 1966

One of the things that I really enjoy the most  about  the FIFA World Cups are THE MASCOTS. Throughout the years the Official Mascots have changed a lot ; some of them were really simple but nice , others were just amazing (like Zakumi) . Here you have a list of Mascots besides some important facts about each FIFA World Cup edition . Mascots have been fruits, animals , monsters. creatures and so forth.

ENGLAND 1966

The 1966 FIFA World Cup, the eighth staging of the World Cup, was held in England from 11 July to 30 July. England was chosen as hosts by FIFA in August 1960 to celebrate the centenary of the standardisation of football in England. England won the final, beating West Germany 4–2, giving them their first (and only) World Cup win, and becoming the first host to win the tournament since Italy in 1934. The mascot was Willi. 

MEXICO 1970

The 1970 FIFA World Cup, the ninth staging of the World Cup, was held in Mexico, from 31 May to 21 June. Mexico was chosen as the host nation by FIFA in October 1964. The 1970 tournament was the first World Cup hosted in North America, and the first held outside South America and Europe. In a match-up of two-time World Cup champions, the final was won by Brazil, who beat Italy 4–1. The Mascot was Juanito. 

GERMANY 1974

The 1974 FIFA World Cup, the tenth staging of the World Cup, was held in West Germany from 13 June to 7 July. West Germany had been chosen in July 1966 as hosts by FIFA. The tournament marked the first time that the current trophy, the FIFA World Cup Trophy, created by the Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga, was awarded. The mascots were  TIP AND TAP.

ARGENTINA 1978 

The 1978 FIFA World Cup, the 11th staging of the FIFA World Cup, was held in Argentina between 1 June and 25 June. Argentina was chosen as hosts by FIFA in July 1966. The 1978 World Cup was won by Argentina who beat the Netherlands 3–1 after extra time in the final. The mascot was Mundialito.

SPAIN 1982

The 1982 FIFA World Cup, the 12th FIFA World Cup, was held in Spain from 13 June to 11 July, 1982. Spain was chosen as hosts by FIFA in July 1966. The tournament was won by Italy, after beating West Germany 3–1 in the final. The Mascot was NARANJITO. 

MEXICO 1986

The 1986 FIFA World Cup, the 13th FIFA World Cup, was held in Mexico from 31 May to 29 June. It was won by Argentina (their second title after 1978), led by Diego Maradona who scored the infamous “Hand of God goal”, and also a goal voted as “Goal of the Century”, in the same quarter-final against England. The Mascot was PIQUE.

ITALY 1990

The 1990 FIFA World Cup was the 14th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 8 June to 8 July 1990 in Italy, the second country to host the event twice. Teams representing 116 national football associations from all six populated continents entered the competition, with its qualification process beginning in April 1988. The mascot was CIAO.

U.S.A. 1994

The 1994 FIFA World Cup, the 15th staging of the FIFA World Cup, was held in the United States from June 17 to July 17 1994. The United States was chosen as hosts by FIFA on July 4, 1988. Brazil became the first nation to win four World Cup titles when they beat Italy 3-2 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 0-0 after extra-time, the first World Cup final to be decided on penalties. The mascot was STRIKER.

FRANCE 1998

The 1998 FIFA World Cup, the 16th FIFA World Cup, was held in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998. France was chosen as host nation by FIFA on 1 July 1992. The tournament was won by France, who beat Brazil 3-0 in the final. France won their first title, becoming the seventh nation to win a World Cup. The mascot was FOOTIX. 

JAPAN 2002

The 2002 FIFA World Cup was the 17th staging of the FIFA World Cup, held in South Korea and Japan from 31 May to 30 June. The two countries were chosen as hosts by FIFA in May 1996; it was the first tournament in World Cup history to be hosted by two countries. The mascot were Kaz, Ato y Nik. 

GERMANY 2006 

The 2006 FIFA World Cup was the 18th FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial international football world championship tournament. It was held from 9 June to 9 July 2006 in Germany, which won the right to host the event in July 2000. The mascot was Goleo a Lion. 

SOUTH AFRICA 2010

The 2010 FIFA World Cup is the 19th FIFA World Cup, the premier international association football tournament. It is being held in South Africa, beginning on 11 June and scheduled to conclude on 11 July 2010. The mascot was ZAKUMI. 

I can say that my favorite one is Zakumi and the one that I do not like that much is Juanito. The less creative for me is CIAO....  :(

Something happens to Messi in La Copa America Argentina

What happens to Messi? 

Much has been said  about Lionel Messi's performance in this Copa America Argentina 2011.Messi has been sharply criticized by his countrymen and media, however, Is it something really happening to  Messi's performance? Many people say that he does not put his heart in the games  some others reproach Meesi for not singing the national anthem at the beginning of a match this week . (which for me has nothing to do, with his performance ). Others wonder why in Barcelona he plays like a super star and with Argentina Messi appears to be like one more player in the soccer field and not the FIFA GOLDEN BALL 2011.  The truth is that Messi is the same  great guy and one of  the best soccer players  in the world. The time, in which Messi shines as the star he is , will come and  Argentina  will be unstopable.  The team  just need someone who puts all the pieces together in the right place  to make that  group of talented men  a great National Team.

What's wrong with Messi in la Copa America ...Algo pasa con Messi en La copa America !

QUE PASA CON MESSI ??

Mucho se ha hablado del rendimiento de Lionel Messi en esta Copa America Argentina 2011. Messi ha sido criticado duramente por sus paisanos y en medios de comunicacion  sin embargo Que es lo que realmente pasa con Messi? Muchos le reprochan que no siente la camiseta y  para muchos prueba de ello es que no canto el l himno   ( algo que para mi no tiene nada que ver , en lo personal) . Otros se preguntan por que en Barcelona juega como los mismos dioses  y con la seleccion Argentina aparece un Messi que nadie conoce? La verdad es que Messi sigue siendo el mismo,  un gran chico y el mejor jugador del mundo . A continuacion les dejo un video de un canal espanol DEPORTES CUATRO  que creo  explica en pocas palabras que ha pasado con Messi...Ya llegara el tiempo de brillar en la seleccion Argentina ..ya llegara..cuando haya alguien que sepa sacar todo lo genial de un grupo de chicos tan talentosos como lo son los de la seleccion Argentina...

ONE OF THE BEST SALVADOREAN SOCCER PLAYER IN EL SALVADOR "FITO ZELAYA"

Rodolfo Antonio Zelaya García is a wonderfel soccer player that is part of the salvadorean soccer team . This young and great player was born in July 3, 1988 in Usulutan , El Salvador. Nowadays  many people consider him as the best player  because of his creativity and elegance with the ball. Last Copa de Oro 2011  Zelaya  played really well , scoring four goals for the team  in fact one of his goals was considered as Top Goal in La Copa de Oro . You can see the Top Ten here :   

Since he was a little boy Zelaya had the ability to play gracefully. He was a boy full of energy and not so good in Math but had a  remarkable  ability for  Physical Education Class.  "Fito ", as known by friends and family , ate, drank, slept, and dreamt  soccer. He loved soccer since he was a little boy. He liked nothing else but soccer. The beginning of his career  starting plying for C.D. San Rafael in 2004. The following season he moved to Atletico La Merced. Later he played two years in A.D. Intipuca in Segunda Division de Futbol Salvadoreño. After two years he moved to La Primera Division de Futbol Salvadoreño to C.D . Cahlatenango Club. 

In 2008, Zelaya moved to Alianza F. C. after former C.D Chalatenango president Lisandro Pohl switched clubs.

On June 15, 2009, Zelaya was one of the three Salvadoran footballers signed to Mexican club Club León on a loan deal, the other two were Cristian Castillo and Julio Enrique Martínez. On 3 December 2009, it was announced that Club León had permanently signed Zelaya along with the other two Salvadorans with a three-year contract. On 12 December 2009 it was confirmed by Alianza's own president, Lisandro Pohl, that Zelaya would return to Alianza on a loan deal.

His great  performace during La Copa de Oro was recognized by many people and gave him the chance to play in Russia this coming season. Fito Zelaya is one of the Great Salvadorean players nowadays . Go Fito  and do your best in Russia salvadoreans are with you.

La mascota de la Copa América 2011

Suri, un ñandú, es la mascota oficial de la Copa América Argentina 2011 .

 Con el ñandú como mascota,

 la 43 edición del torneo de selecciones de fútbol más antiguo del mundo espera generar 

un movimiento económico de 1.000 millones de dólares, el doble de Venezuela 2007.

EL BALON DE LA COPA AMERICA

La marca deportiva Nike presento el diseño del balón con el que se jugará el torneocontinental . Se trata de un balón "Tracer Doma", con tonos en blanco y celeste, como la bandera nacional de Argentina dicho balon fue presentado ya . En el aspecto tecnológico la Tracer Doma  conservará los tradicionales 32 cascos.

 

Sin embargo algunos se han preguntado por que los de NIKE no se esforzaron un poquitin masen cambiar el diseno del balon ya que es la misma "Tracer" con la que se juega la Copa Libertadores, nada mas que cambia el color.. Miren:

KAKA DIRA ADIOS AL MADRID

ADIOS KAKA!!!

El futuro de Kaká está decidido y no pasa, precisamente, por seguir en el Santiago Bernabéu. Tras dos años repletos de lesiones y decepciones, Florentino Pérez, presidente madridista, ha asumido ya que el tiempo del brasileño en el Madrid se ha acabado y así lo ha decidido de común acuerdo con el técnico blanco, José Mourinho. Kaká dejará la disciplina del Madrid el próximo 30 de junio, según informa `Don Balón¿, aunque en el club madridista nadie lo admitirá para no rebajar la cotización del brasileño.

El objetivo de Florentino Pérez es recuperar la mayor cantidad posible de la enorme inversión que supuso el fichaje de Kaká. Será prácticamente imposible que el Madrid ingrese los 65 millones de euros que pagó en su día al Milan, pero hará todo lo posible por acercarse a esa cifra. De ahí que en los próximos meses el mensaje oficial del Madrid será uno muy claro: Kaká se ha recuperado por completo de sus problemas físicos y será una pieza clave a partir de ahora. El objetivo es no asustar a los clubs interesados ni reducir su cotización.

Hay que recordar que en los últimos meses el Madrid ha recibido diversas señales claras por parte de varios clubs. El Chelsea, en el caso de que continúe el italiano Carlo Ancelotti, el Milan, si el brasileño aceptase rebajar los nueve millones netos por temporada que percibe en estos momentos, el Manchester City o su vuelta a Brasil son las alternativas que mejor situadas están en estos momentos.

Precisamente, el City ha movido ficha en las últimas semanas, según recoge la prensa británica. Aprovechando el pacto firmado con el Madrid para la cesión de Emmanuel Adebayor ¿si el club madridista se lo queda en propiedad deberá abonar 17 millones de euros¿, el conjunto inglés está dispuesto a incluir al togolés en la operación para reducir el precio del traspaso. Ofrece 20 millones más el traspaso definitivo de Adebayor por Kaká.

Otro detalle confirma que el Madrid no tiene la voluntad de seguir contando con la estrella brasileña. Según recogía ayer la prensa italiana, los blancos están siguiendo muy atentamente la evolución del croata Luka Modric, cuya incorporación cubriría el hueco que dejaría Kaká.

La estrella del Tottenham está también en la agenda de varios clubs italiano, como el Inter y el Nápoles, pero el Madrid ya se ha interesado por su situación contractual y pugna por adelantarse a sus rivales. Mourinho está sondeando el mercado en busca de un centrocampista de perfil ofensivo, porque no cuenta con la estrella brasileña para el proyecto de la próxima campaña.
