The first match of the EURO 2012 took place last Friday 8th and the final results for each match were:
GROUP A
Poland vs Greece was a game with not too much excitement for many people and with a final result that shows that both teams were not so accurate. Much more was expected from Poland being one of the host cities for this competition. The two goals were scored by Robert Lewandonvski (Poland) and Dimitris Salpingidis (Greece) .
POLAND 1 GREECE 1
Russia vs Cezch Republic was a match that surprised many people since many of them did not expect Russia to score 4 goals in their debut. Russia showed no fear for the Czech Republic and made a blistering start to group A. The first goal was scored by Aleksander Kerzhakov, Alan Dzagoev scored twice , and Roman Pavlyuchenko scored the last one. Besides Andrey Arshavin contributed with two assists to Russia's victory. Vaclav Pilar scored the only goal for Czech Republic.
RUSSIA 4 CZECH REPUBLIC 1
GROUP B
The Death's Group made their debut this last Saturday 9th. Holland vs Denmark was a game that created a lot of expectation since Holland is one of the favorite teams to win this competition. However, Denmark defeated Holland 0-1 surprising many that assured that Holland would win the match. Holland had many chances to score but couldn't define them. The single goal was scored by Michael Krohn- Dehli.
HOLLAND 0 DENMARK 1
Germany vs Portugal was the game that kept everyone in front of their TV waiting to watch a great football match. Germany is one of the strongest candidates to win this competition but the last Saturday they did not show their best performance. The game was settled by a single goal scored by Mario Gomez . This result shows clearly how tight this group will be. Portugal players mentioned that they felt like if they did not get the result they deserved it but they were not lucky to score when they had their chances. Let's wait for the next matches .
GERMANY 1 PORTUGAL 0
