UEFA EURO 2012 GROUPS "C" AND "D" RESULTS






Group "C" from the EURO played last Sunday 10, and the opener match was Spain vs Italy. Spain , as the former European Champion, is the favorite team to win this competition.  Italy did not put things easy to Spain in fact the final score was 1-1. The first 30 minutes  from the first half Italy played their game and did not allow Spain to control and move the ball cutting Iniesta's and Xavi's connection. The first half ended 0-0. The second half was totally different from the first one because Spain controlled almost all the second half . However the first goal was scored by Antonio Di Natale who came off the bench to score the first goal of the match. After three minutes spain  equalised for a 1-1. Cesc Fabregas , who scored for Spain, said that is not easy to be the favorites but Spain was happy with the final  draw 1-1.

The next match was Republic of Ireland vs Croatia.  Two goals from Mario Mandžukić  ruined Ireland's long- awaited return to a EURO finals as Croatia opened up with an impressive victory in Poznan.  Nikica Jelavić  scored  one of the three goals  for Croatia. Ireland scored just  one goal. It was Sean St Ledger who scored the goal.

Group "D" made his debut this Monday 11. The first match was France vs England. France was the favorite for winning the match. However the match was as told by many boring and lacking of excitement. The final result was a draw. Goals were scored by Lescott ( England) and Nasri (France).

Second match of the day was  Ukraine vs Sweeden.Ukraine began UEFA EURO 2012 in dream fashion with a 2-1 comeback defeat of Sweeden in Kyiv to take the nearly lead in Group D. Andriy Schevchenko Captain of Ukraine scored the two goals for his National Team becoming the man of the match.  Sweeden    scored one goal and Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his contribution.
